All tertiary education learning packages can be submitted for TELAS accreditation. However, TELAS only assesses elements of a learning package that are delivered online. Learning packages are accredited and benchmarked according to the following five categories:
- Micro-credentials
- MOOCs
- Units/subjects/courses – the individual components where learning transpires
- Courses/programs – just the core components will be included in the assessment
- Professionally produced learning packages
